Did you know that lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in the world?
November marks Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and this year’s focus is on the importance of research and knowledge about the condition.
It also aims to improve the outcomes and quality of life for those diagnosed with lung cancer, which is a very important mission.
The main types of lung cancer
Lung cancer can be divided into three different main types:
- Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
- Small cell lung cancer (SCLC)
- Lung neuroendocrine tumors (Lung NETs), also called lung carcinoid tumors (which you can read more about on our Lung NETs page)
Every type of lung cancer is different from the other, and they all have their own specific symptoms. This also means that they are treated in different ways.
Research is key in fighting lung cancer
Making people aware about lung cancer is vital in the fight against the condition.
But it’s also important to understand that it’s only through research that new and better treatments for lung cancer can be found – something we at Trialbee supports with passion.
During Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we urge you spread awareness and if possible donate to your local lung cancer research organization.
Together, we can take action against lung cancer and help create a better future!
